中国中医科学院广安门医院
Founded in 1955, Guang'anmen Hospital is the second clinical institute of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) and a national Class A tertiary hospital of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is a constituent unit of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine and one of China's first national TCM service export bases. The hospital is best known for integrating TCM with Western medicine, with nationally leading programs in oncology, endocrinology and diabetes, rheumatology and anorectal disease. Its International Medical Department, established in 2009, is China's first TCM institution accredited to serve international patients, and the hospital treats a large number of overseas patients each year.

These points can help guide your research; they do not determine whether a hospital or treatment is right for you. Clinical decisions are made by the hospital’s licensed doctors.
The following reflects what we have learned while supporting international patients. Appointment arrangements, services and fees can vary; please confirm current details with the hospital.
Based on our experience, appointments through the International Medical Department may need to be arranged in advance, and the hospital is popular with both local and overseas patients. The main hospital app and on-site registration do not offer an English interface, and counters may not have bilingual staff, so overseas patients usually find the International Medical Department the smoother route.
In our experience, foreign patients are generally not required to use an International Medical Department, though hospital policies may vary. Fees there are often substantially higher than at standard outpatient clinics. In return, it may offer dedicated consultation rooms, shorter waits, longer appointments and, in some cases, the ability to use international health insurance. For patients travelling alone, the additional support may make the visit easier.
For self-funded patients seeking a more economical option, we can help arrange care through the same channels used by local patients. Based on our experience, even after adding our coordination fee, the overall cost can be considerably lower than using the International Medical Department, while including advance appointment coordination, bilingual escort support and English medical reports.
